It’s Discovolante, freestanding washbasin by Rexa, designed by Monica Graffeo, one of the winning products at Archiproducts Design Award 2022.
After evaluating over 750 entries from all over the world, the jury, composed of leading personalities of architecture and design, has decreed the winners of the seventh edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards. These were unveiled in an evening tribute to the excellence of design, held on November, 23 in the historic Visconti Pavilion in via Tortona 58 in Milan. An event attended by over 1000 guests between architects, designers and companies, but also journalists, influencers and art directors from around the world, gathered to discover the Winner 2022.
The winning products, divided into product categories, stood out for their unique concept and the ability to represent the excellence of creativity, technology and research.
“Discovolante was born from the desire to create, through a few signs, an object of essential charm and discreet practicality” says Monica Graffeo, designer of the product awarded in the “Bathroom” category. The two elements that compose it, the sink and the top, thanks to the soft and rounded shapes, give life to a balanced and harmonious relationship that defines a linear and timeless design.
The choice of materials is also studied to enhance the relation between the two elements: the sink in Corian®, Glacier White or Deep Nocturne can be coordinated to a top in the same material, in Ash Aggregate or Carbon Aggregate, in Carrara or Nero Marquinia marble or in Bronze or Grey glass that, in contrast, they characterize the object with just elegant refinement. A dedicated accessory is the towel rack that adds a functional note to the scenic element.
Marco Diana, Sales Manager of the company, says: “we are very satisfied with this prestigious award, that allows us to bring to light some strengths of Rexa: with our designers in fact we work to research pure and essential shapes and, at the same time, the enhancement of materials and functions. It is quiet important for Rexa also the importance of the consolidated collaboration with Monica Graffeo, who is also our art director, able to fully express, with refinement and elegance, the Rexa philosophy“.
