A luminous bloom blossoms where design meets poetry: Slamp introduces Poppy, the latest suspension lamp by Marc Sadler, a creation that transforms spaces into suspended poppy gardens, pulsating with emotion and innovation.
Conceived as a modular and customizable lighting installation, Poppy is the result of the synergy between artisanal craftsmanship and technological research. Each poppy is hand-shaped in Lentiflex® through “Tecnoformatura”, a patented process developed by Slamp in collaboration with the designer. This technique softens the material to the point of malleability, allowing it to be sculpted by hand. The resulting forms are entirely unique, crafted by Slamp’s “Sarte della Luce” — skilled artisans working in the brand’s atelier in Pomezia, just outside Rome.

Each bud is composed of three layers of Lentiflex®, two of which are softly shaded in white to diffuse a delicate and vibrant LED light — warm, enveloping, and full of life. A black central pistil not only anchors the structure but also provides a visual signature to the design. Delicate red-painted brass stems support the flowers with ethereal grace, lending a bold and unexpectedly pop sensibility to the piece. Furthermore, one in every seven flowers is hand-airbrushed in red — an artistic gesture that enhances the exclusivity of each composition.
Poppy is available in sets of 7 or 14 elements, interconnected via thin silver-plated copper wires carrying low-voltage electricity. This technical feature ensures safe and discreet conduction, while also contributing to the installation’s light and poetic scenic effect.
“With Poppy, we gave shape to a living, emotional light – one that tells a story through every imperfection. It is a project that brings together nature and technique, discipline and surprise” – Marc Sadler.
More than a lamp, Poppy is an organic and theatrical presence — a glowing symbol that grows and adapts to its environment, capable of evoking emotion and inspiration.
