The integrated lighting system by Déco redefining contemporary cladding.
Déco, an Italian company specializing in cutting-edge technologies and innovative materials for indoor and outdoor applications, has won the BIG SEE Awards 2026 with Nova Twix®, awarded in the Product Design category – “Functional Lighting and Atmosphere.”
Established in 2018, the BIG SEE Awards is now a prestigious international recognition in the fields of architecture and design. The jury, composed of world-renowned experts and designers, selects projects based on originality, creativity, and innovation.

This international recognition confirms the company’s ability to anticipate and redefine the concept of contemporary living, developing solutions that seamlessly integrate aesthetics, functionality, and technical innovation.
Nova represents a new frontier in the world of cladding: an integrated lighting system that transforms walls and ceilings into luminous surfaces, capable of interacting with and enhancing the surrounding space. This approach reflects Déco’s vision, increasingly oriented toward a concept of design as a complete experience, in line with the company’s new payoff, “Imagine Spaces,” expressing its commitment to actively shaping contemporary environments.
The Nova LED system is designed to integrate perfectly with the company’s cladding solutions, including those of the Twix® collection—a line of slatted-effect modules for walls and ceilings made of Ultrashield® composite wood, an advanced material that ensures high performance in terms of durability, resistance, and aesthetics.
Among the award-winning products, Nova Twix® stands out for its ability to merge light and material into a single continuous system. As highlighted by the jury, it is “One light. No limits,” a solution designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, capable of creating visual continuity and coherence between spaces.
The LED strips, available in different power levels (8, 12, and 16 W) and customizable lengths from 10 cm up to 20 meters, are inserted into the grooves between the slats, creating continuous and perfectly integrated lighting effects. The entire Nova Twix® system is designed to maintain maximum visual cleanliness: no visible cables and no invasive installation, thanks to the electrical components concealed within the cavity between the wall and the cladding. The possibilities for customization are extensive: light temperature, colors, and dimmable versions, all controllable via app, remote control, switch, or voice assistants, allowing the system to adapt to any requirement.
More than just a lighting system, Nova Twix® represents an evolution of the very concept of cladding: a design tool that enables architects and lighting designers to shape space through light,
creating dynamic atmospheres and unique compositions.
As Déco states: “This recognition confirms our commitment to redefining the role of cladding, expanding its potential within an increasingly broad and diversified market. Nova Twix® was created to offer new expressive possibilities, transforming surfaces into active elements of architectural and interior design projects.’’
The official award ceremony will take place on May 22, 2026, during the BIG SEE Festival in Portorož, Slovenia—an event that brings together leading figures in global design to celebrate excellence in design.
